Dr. Mir is pleased to be a board-certified pediatric dentist near New Britain who earned her bachelor’s degree from New York University before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, graduating summa cum laude.
After finishing school, she pursued an additional two years of training in pediatric dentistry at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull in Brooklyn, New York. She is experienced in treating children with special needs, those with dental anxiety and phobias, and children who are medically compromised.
During her time in dental school, she traveled to Madagascar to deliver care to children who had no access to dental treatment. It led her to solidify her decision to become a pediatric dentist.
In her free time, she spends time with her husband, Dr. Francis Mir, and her son. She also enjoys traveling and reading.
Growing up in West Hartford, Dr. Waterman received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. He went on to attend The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree before completing a one-year residency in general dentistry at the St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT.
Since that time, Dr. Waterman’s experience as a dentist near New Britain led him to work for the Indian Health Service with the Navajo Nation in Arizona. However, after settling in Connecticut again in 2007, he has worked in various private and public health offices and is an alumnus of the National Health Service Corps.
He previously served as the co-chair for the Workforce Development Workgroup of the Connecticut Coalition for Oral Health – a group dedicated to creating better access to dental care for the state’s residents.
Apart from his busy work life, he spends much of his time with his wife and four daughters as well as singing, participating in triathlons, and picking up new skills at home and work.
Focused on delivering personalized patient care, Dr. Pitcher’s role as a dentist near New Britain makes her a warm and welcoming team member at Family Dental Practice of Newington. After graduating summa cum laude and earning her bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology from the University of Connecticut, she chose to enroll in the school’s dental program to receive her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree.
After completing her formal education, she went on to complete a one-year practice residency at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. There, she refined her skills and received additional training in treating dental emergencies.
When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her hiking, swimming, reading, and doing arts and crafts.
As a qualified and caring dentist near New Britain, Dr. Francis Mir brings more than 10 years of experience in the world of dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He uses his expertise to help patients rebuild their smile after experiencing significant pain and/or damage. He is also committed to creating a comfortable environment for all patients, offering sleep medicine and sedation when performing more complex procedures, such as tooth removal, bone grafting, and dental implant placement.
Dr. Mir’s experience is the result of having lived all over the world, providing patients with a caring demeanor and extensive knowledge. Graduating summa cum laude from Ramapo College of New Jersey, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in New York. From there, he completed additional training in oral maxillofacial surgery at Rutgers University Hospital in New Jersey and Woodhull Medical Center in New York.
After an oral and maxillofacial residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., he took on the role of chief resident in his final year, scoring in the 95th percentile in the in-serving exam. He remains an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Association. Dr. Mir is also certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and advanced trauma life support.
He is married to Dr. Sara Mir, who is a pediatric dentist at our office, and spends much of his time working out, running, playing tennis, and skiing.
As a general dentist near New Britain, Dr. Lai completed his bachelor’s degree in human biology at the University of Toronto before earning his Master of Business Administration from York University. His desire for more education didn’t stop there, as he pursued a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy.
His expertise and commitment to the field are also evident in his membership with the Charter Oak Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
